So far, so good–literally
My first trials at cooking “real” food have been very good over the past week. As an example, last night I made fresh green beans and baked chicken w/butter and spices, but the real treat was the brown rice. I sauteed onions in a bit of butter first, then added the rice and coated it. Then I added chicken broth, chopped carrots, and spices. Brought it to a boil, then simmered for 40 minutes…oh WOW it was good!
This morning I made french toast and had it with maple syrup. Delish!
Tonight I am making potato and leek soup; will report back as to how it comes out.
UPDATE: No soup tonight. I’ve been happily buried in coding & tweaking this new design all day, and just didn’t feel like doing a big dinner. So the soup will wait until tomorrow!
