Blasts from the past
So was out yesterday shopping with roomie, and in the mall at Hot Topic they were playing Michael Jackson’s song “Thriller.” And I remembered *all* the words to the Vincent Price spoken bits at the end…hehehe…”Darkness falls across the land…the midnight hour is close at hand…creatures crawl in search of blood…to terrorize ya’lls neighborhood…” ROFL! Roomie was surprised, to say the least. And a bit horrified, I think. ;-) So I downloaded the album _Thriller_—which I used to have as an actual album!—and am amusing myself by singing to almost all the songs. And having flashbacks to 7th grade when I was first-chair flute and we played “Beat It” in band. Ah, the 80s…
Speaking of the 80s, last night I watched a Madonna special on MTV, and I really enjoyed it; I’d forgotten that she has a new album coming out, but once I remembered I went ahead & preordered it. The show featured highlights from her last tour, Reinvention, and it made me wish I’d gone. I’d not kept up with her new stuff in the last few years, and I didn’t know how politically-minded some of it was, and it’s right up my alley. The way she performed “American Life” was really compelling—the choreography of the dancers, the images shown on the screen, the words of the song—great stuff. I love that she has the guts to do it. I’m looking forward to the new album…especially since it hopefully means a TOUR next year!!! I *will* get tickets to that no matter what. :-)

Er – Vincent Price saying, ‘Ya’lls’?!?! Is it not just ‘Your neighbourhood’, said in fine Vincent Price style?! Or am I just missing a joke… :D
And btw – Madonna – blah… lol
hehehe it was quite a kodak moment, that’s for sure!
hahaha…and GD, he does actually say “ya’ll”…and it’s pretty funny ;)
