Wilma, we hardly new ya—thank the Goddess

Wilma has come & gone as of this writing, and even though she hit way south of here, we’ve been getting tropical storm-force wind gusts (and possibly hurricane-strength gusts) all night & morning. And it’s also *chilly* out there! Chilly for FL, that is. ;-) I think the temps are mid-50s.

My dad, who lives on an island just off of Marco Island (near Naples), is doing fine and weathered the storm quite well. He doesn’t know if his place flooded yet or not, though. He’s been staying with a friend in Bonita Springs, and when I called they were drinking Mimosas. Now *that’s* the way to deal with hurricanes! :-D

This week has had high points (I’ve made great gains in my stories and in the world-building for it) and low points (waiting to finally get paid, being too tired to work out as much as I am supposed to be doing). I’m just glad it’s almost over. I plan to get a lot of…

…but it’s hard. I feel like my holidays are now ruined because I can’t think about anything but the fact that I’ll soon be out of a job. I am grateful that I have a few weeks’ notice (and therefore pay), but it doesn’t stop the bitterness and the anger. Right now we are all…
