Success!

The chicken I made tonight (er, as in Sat night, although it’s after midnight as I write this) w/lemon, cumin, and mint was *delicious*! The asparagus I tried did not turn out well, but I’ll try again tomorrow. But the pièce de résistance…I made an impromptu potato and leek soup, using red potatoes, and it was PERFECT. As I was eating the soup tonight I thought to myself, wow, I really can cook, lol. Good stuff!

At Wild Oats today I got a few new things to experiement with: blackstrap molasses, pearled barley, and buckwheat groats…I got the groats because as I looked over the available grains, the name “groats” made me smile. It’s fun to say. ;-) We’ll see what I can make out of it.

So I decided to return a pair of Baby Phat heels I’d gotten because they were too uncomfortable (and looked too much like a pair I already had), but I found another pair I really liked—and that were cheaper than the heels, so I got a bit of a refund. So what does a geek…

For the third day, for some reason when I decided to do a little collage piece what emerged was a bit melancholy… I suppose thinking about her life, about what we know and about how much we don’t know, can bring about such a state.

Love fall TV! The Sarah Connor Chronicles season premiere yesterday was excellent—lots of goodness there. The opening montage…Cameron going bad…Cameron’s plea for her life…John starting to do his own thing…and, of course, the new “baddie.” And I still really like the Derek Reese character, which Brian Austin Green is portraying perfectly. Tonight’s first ep of…
