COULD IT BE???

UPDATE: Yep, it’s true! Farscape is coming back! Gateworld has reported it, as well as SyFy Portal and others. Let the bunnytinis flow and the Farscape play! *shakes mixer while popping in a dvd*

EDITED AGAIN: During the Farscape celebration, a one-day famous quote by roomie: “Juggling a computer, a martini, and a remote…wow…but safer than juggling a bowling ball and a chainsaw.” *roflmao while choking on said martini*

Whisperings have begun…a press release has been spotted…us rabid loyal Scapers await confirmation and clarification…

SCI FI CHANNEL IS BRINGING BACK FARSCAPE AS A 10-EPISODE WEB SERIES!

It’s the return everyone’s been frelling waiting for! SCIFI.COM has ordered a 10-part webisode series based on the multi-award-winning Farscape, the fan and critical darling that has been widely recognized as one of the greatest sci-fi series in television history. Executive produced by Brian Henson and Robert Halmi, Jr., and produced by The Jim Henson Company, in association with RHI Entertainment, the series will revive and expand the beloved Farscape universe.

The press release is on The Futon Critic. I will be scouring relevant sites over the next 24 hours to find out: Is this true? Which actors will they bring back (Ben & Claudia are available since Stargate is over)? Will they continue with the original story? Will these be pay-for-play or free on SciFi Pulse? Do they mean a possibility of a new regular series? I suspect the success of the Battlestar Galactica webisodes, and most likely those of Eureka, have paved the way for this. And then the important question…can they rebuild Moya and Pilot? ;-)

*drums fingers, waits for more info*

In the meantime, I think I’ll go rewatch the entire series again, and maybe pull out some old Farscape graphics for the site. Get all in the mood and stuff.

  1. You may pity me!
We don’t/didn’t get Farscape. I think I saw one episode. We even have a sci-fi channel!

The only thing remotely Sci-fi right now is ‘The 4400’ and ‘Jericho’
About 3 years ago someone picked up the franchise on Law and Order… and it’s everywhere…. I think were about in season 10 now….

Oh well, someday we can just get the DVD’s

Oh my, ok, I’ll pity ya a bit! lol! You gotta download ’em or Netflix ’em if you can! :-) It’s a great show–it’s really quirky, but in a good way. Do you get/have you seen any of the new Battlestar Galactica? I didn’t like 4400 that much; didn’t care for the writing or acting. Jericho is mildly entertaining, but hey, I’m picky–I’m used to stuff on the scale of BSG and Farscape. Hehe! ;-)

  3. Ah, good – couldn’t get onto your website last night to see what all the fuss was about.

Oh, bugger. Pagan, self-sufficientish AND into sci-fi fantasy – I think I’m in love! Another blog to keep on top of…

    er, metaphorically. Obviously.
