This movie is HOW much on Amazon?! Apparently, I have a valuable antique.
I have a love affair with movies that I love. When a movie speaks to me, and I fall in love with it, I’ll end up owning it in many various formats (I still own VHS tapes of favorite movies, bought way back when they came out on VHS, and then got them in DVD format and then either/or Blu-ray/HD digital). I love to watch them over & over when the mood strikes (like re-reading favorite books).
Today, after watching my now-favorite Super Soul Sunday on OWN (it’s a new Sunday morning ritual—I LOVE Super Soul Sunday!), I was in a feel-good place & decided to watch some old fav costume dramas, starting with my forever-uber-beloved, first-movie-I-bought-on-VHS, love it so much I quoted it on my about me page here on the blog: A Room With A View.
I actually hadn’t tried watching it yet on my Blu-ray player, so I popped it in & turned it on.
“This is not at all what we were led to expect.”
Pardon my quoting of Maggie Smith’s character. The screen was stretched out & down quite a bit on my 40″ tv. Ah well, an old DVD on a newer setup, what else should I be led to expect, right?
So I said hmmm, I wonder if it’s available on Amazon Prime streaming…but alas, nay.
So I then decided to see if it’s on Blu-ray, and it is, and I’ve added it to my to-get list.
Then I saw the regular DVDs.
And the prices!!!
Apparently, I have a very, very pricey antique and didn’t know it.
Here’s my DVD copy:

Here’s that DVD’s listing on Amazon.com:

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy ridiculousness, Batman. My eyes are still saucer-shaped at the moment.
But you know what? I will NEVER EVER PART WITH MY BELOVED. *clutches DVD*
Then again, that could be why the prices is high…these DVDs are probably rare because those of us who bought the first editions hardly ever give them up, hahaha.
Such a chuckle for the day. Now it’s time to enjoy my expensive DVD! ;)
Happy Sunday,
Sara
